Can someone tell me if you have software to hide your IP address why you would want to use a proxy? Maybe i don't understand how this exactly works. Thanks

there are tons of software out there to use in hiding IP addresses. an IP address is your identity over the internet. let's say you register in a particular website like ebay for example. you can create multiple accounts as you like but they will know that those accounts are owned by only one person because of the IP address, you got the picture.

there is a tool I found here known as "cloakfish", its a piece of shit that hides your ip and you need to purchase it to have a number of different IP to use on a regular basis.

If you are in a hacking world, you can use different methods and other softwares that aren't mentioned in here.

TIP:, some softwares only hides your browsers IP, as far as I know. but there is this nice software that hides your computer's IP in depth. based on past experience, there are some nice coded web applications that can detect your real IP even if you are using a proxy. so I recommend proxifier for that, though it doesn't give you proxy, socks at all, its like a gun that you need to load some bullets. (just google it)

Just read chapter c) here
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo-tools/39912-professional-ip-anonymity-tool-cloakfish-anonymity-discussion-thread.html

It lists most techinques and options to change your IP.

Let's say I just want to have multiple Facebook accounts. Wouldn't getting DSL with dynamic IP's be the best solution?

Or do I need a proxy to do this?

One question is it safe to use this proxy site? I've heard using the wrong proxy can allow a hacker to take over your computer. That's why I'm looking for good choice but I'll check it out.

using a proxy is never save, trusting in data coming from an unecnrypted http connection through a proxy is also not save.
+ public proxies are most dangerous ;)

As long as you have up2date security patches (and use firefox, not IE) and don't download stuff+execute it you should be at least save from losing your computer to a "hacker"

As I said, don't try any suggested provider.

Go through a list (google) and ping them before ordering.

Run a ping on an example IP of their servers.
So you see how fast your route to them is, try to aim for less than 100ms latency and 0% packetloss.

Hi justone,

I have tried to access the document you said:

***/39912-professional-ip-anonymity-tool-cloakfish-anonymity-discussion-thread.html

But it says I don't have permission to view it? Is it a special forum, must I have a number of posts or something to access it? Could you paste chapter "c" here?

yea well complaints to the mods ;)
It was a large comparison of all ways to be anonymous.

You can read a lot on my website on cloakfish.com.
You sound very confused about the whole topic, maybe just read through the different sections. Frontpage and features page (buttom) give a good overview, in howto you see some setup examples how to configure a proxy.

Hehe, I am more than confused :P

Which are the requistes for accessing that forum?

About proxies...

Could I ask a couple simple questions about anonimity?

I keed seeing proxies for sale at digital point, the kind of proxie that's a webpage and you navigate through it. How good is that? For instance If I wanted to make multiple AssociatedContent accounts (Im from outside US) or I wanted to create several paypal account, those proxies would be ok?

You most probably mean web proxy sites.
These people mainly sell a domain which is populated by users looking for free web proxies.
So that's probably not what you want, you want to use one not to run one.

Also a web-proxy is the worst sort of anonymity tool, it just obfuscates your IP a bit breaks most better javascript and is not suited for anything but surfing some sites blocked at your local school ;)

When your create accounts as affiliate or on paypal then keep in mind that you are subject of human verification.
Most proxies will fail that test, paypal limits your account and steals the money (they love to do this) and AC or EPN would just wait for you to bring them traffic and ban you before you can receive money.
Almost all private proxies will fail on this or raise big red flags.

p.s.
cloakfish is not a forum it's a product, and the website is free to access. just read the front page. It contains most ways to hide your IP and judges on it.

I find it funny when I go to some of these proxy sites with their hard sell and they tell you that you're not safe because they know your IP address and location, and then display it. What's funny is that they are displaying a VPN server address on the other side of the world and have no clue.

Any browser based proxy has the potential to leak your true IP address via Java script etc. You never know if oyu are exposed.

download a copy of switch proxy pro or just use "foxy proxy in firefox"

It all depends on what your doing or using them for.
