i did a little spamming on a forum in my niche last night. results were very well but it was only a few hours until i was banned as expected. i sent pms to a large amount of the users.
my question is, do they usually delete my pm's if i get banned from a forum? im sure it depends but just looking for what they do in general. the board has medium to medium-high popularity relative to the nice.

No I don't even know if its possible to delete the unread PMs without the use of a plugin. It will probably just sit there and then they won't believe you when they see you're banned.

    Thanks

thanks. what about pms that were already read? i ask this because i did send my second account the pm as a test and it was deleted when i got the ban hammer. just trying to figure out if it would be worth going back in there for another round or not. if my pms were deleted, it would be worth it to do it again (with adjustments). if they were not deleted, i know it wouldn't be worth it

Did you set up some way to track results? If not you should have, the best way to see if it is worth doing is if you received additional visitors/customers/orders or whatever you were going for. Whether the PMs were deleted or not does not really matter, what matters is what kind of results you got from your spamfest.

well, considering the amount of messages i sent, the time i sent them and the time before i got the ban, i would guess about 15-20 people opened the pm (no more than 30 at the most). and from there, i got 9 clicks and 5 signups. so i know for sure its worth sending as many people i can the pm once, however sending it a second time would be worthless.
some more info, i slept for a few hours after i sent the pm's. when i woke up, i was banned and had 9 clicks. i had no clicks since then. i take this as a sign that the pm's were deleted
    ..........................................
i made 1 mistake. i thought i scrubed my list clean of mods but i found out that i missed a small group of them. once one of the mods got my message, im sure thats what got me the ban. for my second time around, if i make sure all the mods are out, do you think that will be enough to avoid a ban? or should i take extra precautions like [using 30-50 accounts, multiple proxies, spread out registration time and dates] ect...

in other words, will the mods be able to see that i sent 1000 pm's over night if none of them get a pm from me? (they have a bcc feature which i used and i sent them at a max rate of 10 at a time)

Well it might not even be that you missed any of the mods. Some of the regular members you sent to may have just reported it. There's really nothing you can do to scrub for that.

ok ok i double checked and no, i didnt send to any mods, i "scrubbed" it correctly. so i was banned from either getting reported or a mod saw i sent hundreds of pm's and banned me. do they normally check pm stats from users? is there an alert or something that would pop up?

so if i understand correctly, they normally cant just open other peoples pm's, right? im thinking about creating multiple accounts and sending maybe 2-4 messages per day with 20 or so accounts. if a few get banned, no big deal.

my next question is should i take extra precautions like using proxies and varying the times i make each new account? is it normal for them to block IPs to guard against this?

i know every mod and forum is different, just looking for what the norm is. it would help a lot
