I know theres lots of people asking for tutorials and already lots of information here.

My question is more so just the basic steps being used to start affiliate marketing, wondering if someone can let me know if I'm on the right track.

1. Join a affiliate program(s). Use main social accounts or make a simple website to apply for any applications if needed.

2. Product research step. Points when researching: (a) Find a micro niche (Keto dieting with diet niche) Lower competition so its easier to rank but still has search volume so don't need create and educate people on new products (c) Product with actual value and will resolve a real problem in peoples lives. (d) Price points where can earn commission but isn't to high where it'll be low purchase rate. (e) choosing something that isn't going to die off if longterm is the goal which it is

3. Sales funnel/page: This portion depends on the strategy and learning what works. One way I was looking at would be creating yt vids showing product or real info and link to another page where more info/sign ups can be done, perhaps another video explaining more detail and than move on to purchase link.
I think to develop it for more long term building an official site with blogs, sales page, opt ins etc would be a good option too.

4. Building traffic: Joining groups, buying/building instagram account, answering quora/forum questions, learning fb ads, shoutouts to instagram and yt if they still work. And at the same time getting website ranked for organic traffic.
Will traffic comes in have optin list to build email list to send out updates and offers.

I am in the process deciding officially whether to go ahead with fba, drop, or affiliate. For affiliate marketing I am a completely new to and trying to gather info to see if its a better fit for risk and reward compared to fba which is what I do want to do.

Anyways my question is with the above steps am I heading in the right direction is there some areas that people should take heed at?

I just want to be able to research each area and not loose time researching topics shouldn't be using.

Thanks

Do your research on niches and pick one. Then build your traffic.

The key is how are you going to drive traffic?

If you also build an email list as you do that you can remarket to them.

So, first figure out traffic, ensure you can consistently drive it and then find affiliate programs that are appropriate to the audience.

I agree traffic is an important aspect to implement and find out what is working. But with your real expertise would you think product research is the top priority? If you have a product that is crap no one is going to buy iti would think. But on the other hand I saw someone selling a potato with a custom message on it on sharktank lol.

That is why I recommend researching what niche you want to be in first. That way you are not product locked. So lets say you chose diet products. Then do your research on diet products as you build a following who are interested in losing weight, the next diet trend, etc. Then you can rotate between products and find out which one works best for your audience.

So I suppose thats a difference in ds/private and affiliate. Because you don't have to supply the products your better off choosing a niche and building sites, groups, instagram, etc off the niche and than it's easy enough to add or take away products as needed.
