Question on backlink!

Hi..!!
Keyword1 has a very good volume. And the Keyword2 has no volume. But both are relevant to my site.
I have a chance for a link insertion from DR 80+ domain that is relevant to my business.
The high volume keyword (Keyword1) is present on the blog with 0 traffic.
The Keyword2 is present on the blog having traffic 700/month.
Which would be the right choice?

"Keyword volume" predicted by most seo tools is a bogus, ambiguous quantity.

There's no way to predict it reliably, and the keywords that you say as "no volume" might actually have some or quite a lot of volume.

How do you know the traffic of this site? Did the publisher give you access to their analytics? Or did you use some 3rd-party "traffic estimation tool" like SimilarWeb and the likes?

If it's the latter, then that traffic estimate is near useless. Go with the keyword that is more relevant to your website.

What are the difficulties of the keywords themselves?

I would assume since keyword 2 is already bringing in traffic, it is the easier one between the two.

When next you're going after keywords you should not just focus on their volume, in fact volume can not only be misleading but can be the reason your site fails. Always Go after keywords you stand a chance to rank for. Don't go after keywords simply because they have high volume. Your site may never get lucky enough to get a piece of that high volume you're looking at.

That being said, I'll recommend/suggest you go after keyword 2, the one you stand a chance in ranking for.


Now, when building backlinks, you shouldn't build links simply because you want to push a particular keyword, build backlinks because you want your overall site authority to improve and with the right interlinking strategy, the link juice would flow and spread across your website.

Dumping links on a particular page because you want to rank just those pages, is not a very good idea, though it works sometimes, you might just be wasting the links.

You need to decide whether Keyword1 is too difficult for you or not.

If Keyword1 is too difficult, and Keyword2 has some commercial value, you can point Keyword2.

If Keyword2 is just some random keywords that have near to zero real commercial value, you can still point to Keyword1.

Plan according to your keyword

I will suggest choosing the link insertion with Keyword2 and getting more traffic; it's more beneficial for SEO and potential website traffic.
