Question on 301 redirects

Do the 301 sites need to have content on them, or is it ok if it has nothing? Also, how many should I 301 to my site?

I think it all depends. For me, I redirect on occasion, but it's very niche-to-niche so it looks realistic. For instance, I won't 301 a site that sells men's shavers to a site that reviews dog treats.

I know about the niche relevance, but how many sites can I 301 to my money site?

There was just a thread about this. Think about it from Google's point of view: does it look natural to have 5 sites redirected to one main site? No, not really. How often does a site owner realistically change their domain? A few times over the course of many years, max.

You don't need to publish content on the sites before 301ing them. It's impossible to know how many 301s is okay to Google. Some SEOs 301 10 domains, some do 5. I limit mine to 3 per domain.

There's no need to add content before u 301 them.

You can use a website's history (how they looked and what content they had in past) using .. web.archive.org

Generally domains with good seo stats must have had content on them in past (if they have links, they must have had content right?) so u can upload the same content on them, which they once had

I use 301's A LOT...

When dealing with them in the past 8-9 months post last October... You should host them and have the domain index before 301'ing over to your target money site. This usually sees a nice bump in rankings in 3-5 days... OR you could direct registrar the 301 and wait for 14-20 days give or take. The choice is yours, but I know what I'm doing.
I also suggest making sure you realize that the 301 isn't some magical power... It is based off of the links that site has in its profile as well as its age/authority. not all metrics transfer over which is absolutely fine.

As far as volume is concerned... Think less is more, but juice up those 301's with some PBN links, SPAM, SAPE and you'll be good to go juicing up whatever money site you target.
I never really use more than 2-3 unless I'm in a really competitive niche or working with some parasites.

I personally don't bother with that, just buy a good domain aged domain and 301 to money site and blast, and add some SAPE with that to.

As for the amount, i have never gone above 5 301's to my money site, not for any other reason then i didn't think i needed anymore to rank.
