    tl;dr version:
    -Have an old domain
-Building a "niche" site for Amazon aff.
-Have built up the products & ~10,000 words of content in the past 3 months
-No backlinks, web2.0, etc done as of yet.

I want to transfer the website from (unrelatedtokeyworddomain).ca to (relatedtokeyworddomain).com

Are there any cons to doing it within 3 months of building my site?

I've got G webmaster tools connected to it.
Will this make G think my content is duplicated?

    Appreciate the insight gentlemen.

Go in Webmaster Tools and setup the market where you want to show your results.

I mean that you need to setup your target audience if you change the domain extension.
For example, if you always want to turn to the Canadian public by changing the domain extension you should set the target inside WT.

Definitely use Google's change of site tool for this. Doing this step by step will ensure that you do not loose your search engine rankings.

Try not to use the original .ca domain for anything else for at least 180 days. You ideally want to do a 301 redirect to the new domain and make sure that every link is 301 redirected to the exact same url on the new site. Read this official Google article.

    I see what you're saying.

But I want to move topic1.ca to topic1.com
and use topic1.ca as a different topic all together.

    Thank you Nikita,

Exactly what I was looking for.
    Kudos to you.
