I've been doing SEO for awhile and linkbuilding and all that cr*p.. I'm currently in a debate with another SEO about creating linkwheels on sites that we own.

So here's what he is suggesting to do:

- Build multiple sites in the same niche
- Host sites on same server
- Use same name and details for domain registration
- Create a linkwheel between these sites

MY issue with this is that the links are all going to be on the same server and IP and will be redundant in the eyes of Google, so a waste of time.

What's everyone elses thoughts?

Man, this is not good, I have 1 competitor in competitive niche. He Made 4k sites about that niche, "mininet", so effect is good to get top 10! BUT I get better rankings from 320 backlinks than he! I used high pr profiles and some blog links! Also I suggest you use xrumer service - forum posts. Because It works best for google to get 1st rankings! I and my team use it to very hard keywords!

To build 10k or 5k - individual sites with unique IP, will cost you unreal money and time!

Of course you can try :D

i dont see the point if it comes from the same server. but then again i dont know

I've got the software to pump out sites in no time so that doesn't worry me so much.. I'm more interested in knowing if their is value in building multiple sites on the same server under the same niche and linkwheeling them together..

I would have thought that creating web 2.0 profiles and creating them into the linkwheel would have been more effective? :)

More effective is to post your message to 10 000 forums! then build network of sites. They must be on unique IP! Then you will get good benefit!

If you build network of sites with one ip and make link wheel, you will get good results, BUT anybody will can beat you with thousands of backlinks from different sites (Spam). So think what do you want - results or wasting time...

I was wondering this same thing. We are actually doing this same thing as we speak. But wouldnt this be true? (I am green at all this) but if we have a server, and we have 15 unique domains, all the same niche, parked on our hosted dedicated server, each one with a unique ip and 1 or 2 smtps, wouldnt google just see that as non redundant and rank our site higher with all the sites linking to ours, then spidering to the others? Our competition seems to be doing this and it is working. I dont want to go thru all this work, it it will be for not. But I dont want to get sandboxed by using xrumer etc?

Also, I am interested in your software to crank out websites. What are some good ones, that would really make our life easier.

If you will not spam, create 5-10 websites in the same ip will not be a issue.

This is theory, but if you see the kinds of link that Google are accepting like forum profile, you will know that the google robot is not a concern.

For me you should create all in the same ip and make a test,if you see that none are improving just buy a c clas ip host, and see if this do any difference.

Linking with sites based on same server will not harm and will give you benefits... Google only expect them to be good quality sites lol which doesn't happen enough

So we create mini sites to connect them with our money site... If you will use different C-Class IP then you will get more link juice in comparison to sites on same IP. This way it looks different people in same niche are connecting with you...

I personally have 50 blogs on different C-Class IPs and they are helping my sites in big way... I am thinking of pushing it to 100-150 with in next few months... I will also try to update them at-least every fortnight or month and will make some backlinks for them also... It will be tough job but with links juice from them it's all worth... I use old PR domains to setup these sites...
