Question: Link building through linkbait/widgetbait

Hi -

I have a quick question. We run a very popular widget platform. Recently I received a query from an SEO company wanting to partner to use our widgets as a link-bait to get backlinks. Our widgets are installed by hundreds of website, generating millions of back-links, with customized anchor text and placement of widgets on the host website. Back-links are hardcoded (not javascript inserted) to get maximum juice. We have 12 year old domain name, serving widgets for the last 4 years.

Since we have little experience in SEO, would you guys recommend going down this route? Would someone here be willing to partner to explore this?

Yes, the widget platform has bee running for a few years and we can setup a demo for link-building for someone interested in exploring this. We'll need some hand-holding for exploiting this for SEO.
