When I first started with WP, I was not sure if I should use posts or pages, so I asked on BHW and read a bunch of articles on BHW answering the same question. I was still not sure.
4 years on having used both, in my experience for ranking an article, it makes no difference. I have some sites that only use pages for things like about, contact, home etc and everything else is posts, and I have other sites where I have zero posts. It makes no difference.
The only time I will use a post over a page is if the theme I am using has certain features for posts vs pages. Otherwise, just crack on.
Should also be pointed out that I do not use tags or categories in WP. I silo my sites manually to avoid thin content penalties.

This is so helpful.
I use tags and categories just as it looks nice and organised for my readers.
We're a service provider, however I've amassed like over 75,000 words of content now and am trying to create our service website into a hub for our industry.

There's not much difference between page/blog for SEO - although in practice you'd use a blog for actual blog posts and page for evergreen style content (about us page, products etc etc).

Tags and categories are fine for aesthetics, just don't index them. If you use them for UX, then definitely keep using posts.

Purely so it looks nice as I'm using Slider Revolution with a Masonry Layout for the blog section. So the tags look great!

I have a couple of sites which use slider revolution and use categories on them for the exact same reason. I also have 1 site where I do use categories and index them, as it works perfectly with that particular theme to create a silo. Google seems to like it too.
Very much depends on the theme you are using. But as for post or page, from a ranking perspective, they are the same.

Thank you. It's a design in Divi that I'm using.
All relevant optimisation done on the site, loads quickly, is easy to use and small for customers. Very minimalistic design is what I was going for.
The 10,000 word blogs that I've put on it are the biggest thing lol.
Just making sure my keyword is mentioned 12 times per blog on ones that size
Following Yoast on most things, however Yoast is crazy sometimes.

I gave up with Yoast for content quality control ages ago. It is mostly rubbish (SEO is not one size fits all, very much dependant on niche and target KW within niche). I tend to simply look at what the current top 10 are doing and replicate + write naturally. If it is appropriate to use the KW, do so, don't force it to meet a quota, that sort of thing.
If you have access to Semrush, there is a really cool feature which will help tons. Otherwise, there are lots of free tools to do similar, just a lot more effort.

Initially youast is good but as you grow then yes semrush is good, but newbies should play around with yoast first then move onto semrush

For articles with just images and text such as info articles I use posts (have made a custom template for that). For articles such as guides, reviews and others which require additional visuals, tables, etc. I use pages.

Which Semrush features you use for content that are better over those that yoast offers?

Semrush is very, very good. Once you start earning from your affiliate adventures it's a nice little upgrade.

Most of the content in my blog is in form of pages only and they are doing good.

I completely agree with this.
You do not need any tools, you do not need to repeat your keywords XY times in a content of certain length.
All of these are strategies of the past....
Google is much smarter now for understanding content. Write for people, not for bots.
I rank top 3 for countless keywords with articles that, except of the title, do not include the target keyword at all...
