Question - How To Target Longtail Keywords?

Quick question,

Do you target long tail keywords on your Tier 1 links, or just on your money site? For ex: If I want to rank for "The best pizza shop" would I write an article on my Tier 1 property optimizing that keyword, or write the article on my money site optimizing that keyword? I'm a little confused here.

write one article on your site for "The best pizza shop" and another one on your tier 1 property linking back to the "The best pizza shop" article on your site. after all, you want your site to rank, not your tier 1 property right ?

It would depend upon how important the long tail may be to you, some long tails tend to be competitive. You may add them to your existing articles on your money site, or have a totally new post dedicated to them. For instance, if you have an article about pizza shop, you may just use the best pizza shop once within your article and point back links at them, if your longtail does not get many searches and is not competitive at all.

barbie.ken is right. You should write one or several articles about "the best pizza shop" on your money site. Just make sure you write them with different angles. And on your tier 1, write articles consisting of your keywords that link back to your money site.
