One of my sites has a theme that is heavy on images and feature boxes w/ excerpts and light on text content on the homepage. Unfortunately most of my links also point there so I want the on page SEO to be top notch.
I thought about doing a charspin on the auto excerpt (55 words * 8 feature posts) to avoid duplicate content, but I'm not sure how the search engines treat this stuff. Can they read it and treat it as unique text or do they more or less just skip it entirely, leaving me with even less words than I have now (albeit not duplicate)?
