Question for you folks; I have a client that some time ago did some under the radar things and got busted for it. Well, his story and mug shot are on Google. This was a few years ago.

Fast forward to today: he wants to do some online stuff to "push down" the negative content and the pics. We figured if we did some blasts via SENuke that it would help by putting more current content up and thus push down the bad stuff.

Any other suggestions? Would video be helpful? Would uploading images by themselves to photosharing sites be worth anything? Online press releases?

What else would YOU do if you were trying to fix a bad image of a client for some crappy stuff they did years ago, which is now fixed and they no longer do?

TIA

One Word: RE-FRAME (from NLP)

target the same keywords as found in the "bad image" results
then be authentic:
start out 1-2 sentences that it was bad
say that was historic/incomplete/out of context, etc..
now biz owner is great/helpful
do current reputation article with pictures of person helping out community, etc.
do authentic blog commenting & google alerts to reputation keywords, etc.
and resolve all issues

if client is still doing fraudulent/bad work today, but wants to pay you $$$ to cover it up. F it.
drop the client, its not worth compromising your karma

hope it helps

like you mentioned i think press releases would be usefull here, some articles too.

how do i get the "mug shot" out of, or lower down in googles image ranking

no, he is not doing that crap anymore - hes clean now and has been doing great stuff for the community

cant help you there. interesting post though. Have a friend working at an SEO company and recently some one contacted them asking if they could help in the same way. He had loads of negative stuff on high pages, wanted to push it down. They didnt take him on though he was a peado.

good luck finding any one that will help him out.!

We did this for a client recently. We simply created profiles containing the persons name on many larger social networks (linkedin, zoominfo, facebook, and even wikipedia). Then we bought links to our profiles. We also did a few donations at major charities that displayed the persons name. Nothing like pushing out negative content with content that says you donated to Red Cross ;). We ended up getting a couple major news sites pushed to the second page.

Google image SEO is VERY slow. Don't promise him anything quick on that, it could take 6 months. Use the usual SEO tactics (backlins) on all the webpages that come up containing the positive or neutral images that return for his name. Also create bunch of images with his name as file name, tags, alt file name (upload to flickr, photobucket etc) and get them on blogs with a positive story about him.

Good luck.

You'll also need to make several blogs/sites with his picture on it and name the pictures properly. If his name is Richard Jones, name the pics "richard jones", "jones richard", "Rich Jones", "richie jobes", "dick jones" etc...

Then after you set up the various sites, social bookmark them... digg, mixx, reddit etc.

Post the info on craigslist in the general community with his pics also.
