I use personally a plugin called as Tribulant
PS: I am not an expert, but just implement the things which are easy for me. You can go for other experts opinion too

No, don't direct them to the home page; direct them to the actual product payment link.

You can use the free version or cracked version but I will not suggest you to do that because there is possibility of Traffic Redirect or even hacking, go for the paid version if you can or ask here if anyone can help you with the plugin.
