Question For WooCommerce Experts

Hey Everyone!

I accidently changed the template of my theme & lost the design & customizations that took me days++, even when i go back to old template its completely gone, is there a way to undo/go back to old design or its just gone, also any ideas to backup/prevent this from happen on the future? thank you

PS: products & pages are still there, only designs disappeared

If you simply backup both content and database you will not have this issue. Just pick any backup plugin and you are ready to go. Nowadays backup plugins are so straight forward.

Anyway, it doesn't make any sense that you hav elost everything just by changing the template. Consider that most themes save their customization database-level and it's unlikely that other theme is going to overwrite it. Something else must have changed. Did you use a web design builder like Elementor or Divi?

I didn't even choose a template from a different theme, it was the same theme. when i switched back , the website looked like a demo , everything is gone. yes i used Elementor to edit certain stuff too

OK now I see where you are coming.
For example, if we are talking about Generatepress theme, and you "selected a different template, what they call site library" what you really did, was overwriting all the original settings so they can fit the new design.
I am not sure if we are talking about such theme, but for example, Generatepress has a good message warning you from doing so before you press the button.
You basically deleted all the DB info the theme had for setting your site design

In case you had simply switched to a different theme, this won't have happened because themes save their specific info in a separate "database namespace"

You cannot avoid this in the future, except, you use a backup copy with a plugin as I suggested (just select any, all work fine, like updraftplus or whatever) and you read the warning messages before you execute such changes!!
