Hi guys got a quick question for UK based members who make money through affiliate marketing.

i'm just getting started and want to know how members who started making a decent amount of money dealt with income tax?

did you declare your earnings and pay tax on them? if not is there anyway you tried to hide your earnings?

thanks in advance for any answers.

amazon affiliates have to sign a declaration for tax. I declare everything so to be safe, they will catch up with you in the end. You can set it up as a hobby first and when decent money comes in then declare it. The taxman probably won't bother if you earn a few quid.

I think you dont have to pay TAX until you gross over 81K

That is terrible advice and completely wrong. It doesn't matter if it's from affiliate marketing or working at McD it's still the same tax rules as you will more than likely be a sole trade/self employed. If it's coming from US CPA companies it's still the same.

Yes claim everything that you make. Not worth losing everything by committing tax fraud.

You better declare it. I have setup my own company which makes it much easier and white hat. I can also offer other services than affiliate marketing and I am able to invoice my clients. I have an accountant who manages everything for me. A little extra cost but more than worth it to stay away from any tax troubles
