I've been offered a domain with great amount of backlinks, so I was thinking about buying it and then redirect it to my money site. But I can also buy backlink on the homepage for much less.

The domain has almost no outbound links, so I was wondering if there is a big difference ( in terms of linkjuice) between buy the domain and make a 301 redirect, or just get a backlink from the homepage?

I'd buy the website as that gives you much more flexibility than just 301'ng the domain.

301 doesn't pass along all PR anyways. People aren't sure exactly what the % passed is but the consensus is that full PR isn't passed along.

Buying a link may be less risk in the long run but having another "network" site is always beneficial for future use.

It depends.

Questions:

1. What is the site's PR/PA/DA?

2. How much content does the site have?

If the answers to those questions are high in number and quality then that means the 301 has a much bigger effect compared to the single OBL. If not then either doesn't really contribute that much.

I remember once some Google employer seed that 301 give 90% of link juice.

Mister matt cunt said that link vs 301 gives about the same power.

But.... the link needs to be d0-follow and you can't have other outbound links on the page... other wise the power gets divided equally between those links.

i.e

1 out bound link = same power as 301

3 out bound links = each link carries about one third of the power of 301.

if i buy an old domain and has good backlink to 301 redirect, create an article on that domain and link it to youtube video for example, is it still pass the link juice that domain have?
