I'm pretty bored right now so I want to post a question to the admins/owners of this forum (just hypothetical question).

If you were approached by any of the major affiliate networks asking you to give them a list of members and their IP Addresses, how much money would it take before you hand it over?

Nice question, we should get a betting pool going before they answer.

I put $5 down that Clix would sell us out for another cool avatar. He hasn't changed his in a while, and I bet he is fiending for another.

A list of ips and members is useless... what would a network do with it?

PS: a kit kat is quite expensive, you did a good deal clix.

yea a list of ips is nothing, but agreed man wow a kitkat that crazy! i would of sold out for stick of gum, shit.

Was a smooth transaction. LOL Thanks, now what am i going to do with all these emails ???

Last time it was for a jolly rancher, got a little more expensive on me.

Well all i had was that Kit Kat.

Clix is a business man, im sure he could use a nice red paper clip... lol

I voted 7 figures because that's my price, but I'd be willing to bet low 4 figures would do it.

Did you ever read the story about the guy who traded a paper clip for a house? It was like a string of a-little-bit-better trades, where he finally traded something for a house.

He later traded a snow globe to Corbin Bernsen for a speaking part in a movie too.

Damn, all I've got over here is one red paperclip.

Actually i list of IP Addresses would be useful to them. For example when you log into your Dashboard it logs your IP Address. You talk about stuffing cookies on here and they put two and two together=banned.

Affiliate networks make money off of everyone, even blackhatters. It's the advertisers that are getting the bad deal in most cases. I think deep down, most of the networks want to let 99% of things slide, but have to adhere by there advertisers wishes in order to keep them happy. Everyone likes money...

Not always true. When black hat = gaming the system but delivering good leads, then yeah, everyone's pretty happy. But when black hat = misleading surfers and sending crap leads, then the end merchant isn't happy. This often leads to said end merchant not paying the network and then the network isn't happy. The network is doubly unhappy when the merchant decides not to pay AFTER the affiliates have already been paid.

Oh, and to answer the poll question from the other end, most networks wouldn't pay anything for such a list. A true devious black hatter should be able to fake out his identity and IP address, so the list bought from the board would be worthless.

(looking around with kit kat chocolate all over his face and hands) Anyone else want to make a deal?
