Hey guys. I'm a long time internet marketer, but I've always 'created' my own traffic, and for the most part I don't think my sites were even indexed by google and such.

But I had the idea for a new project, and I need to know how difficult it would be to use SEO for a very specific purpose.

My question is, how possible is it to get your site listed as the top organic search result for a google search with the exact text of your domain name? (omitting spaces of course).

For example.. Say I have the domain "californiacarinsurance.com" Would it be very difficult to get the top listed organic result for a google search of "california car insurance"? And also, what factors come into play with achieving this kind of success? Thanks.

It calls EMD ......... exact macth domain and you do not need do so much SEO work for this kinds of domain.Just write a well seo friendly article and some simple whitehat linkbuilding and see the result.I personally started a new website with EMD .net domain and within 3 days i see my site is on number 10 of the first page. Now doing some simple seo adn hope within few days my site will come to top 3.

Having an exact match domain name to the keyword that you are targetting helps a lot, but the example you have given will probably need more then just and exact match .com domain to get you to the top..

Factors are domain age, website age, how many backlinks your competition has, how many you have.. Of course it is possible to get to the top, i think it is what most of us are trying to do here :)

Thank you Royal. Glad to hear about your results. I will research 'EMD' a bit too!

Yes of course... I'm aware of those factors. I'm just curious as to the power, (how much it helps) to have the exact match domain name in addition to standard SEO techniques. Thanks for the input.

...also bare in mind that being top organic in Google no longer means that you are top of the page; you might be behind loads of ADs, local places, videos and google product search. Coming back to your question, of course it is possible but i believe since Panda EMD are not that effictive anymore, BING on the other hand still seem to love them as ever...

It depends upon the competition of the keyword.Use Adwords for that...for better idea use Traffic Travis, best to use Market Samurai.More the competition, more is the difficulty.Build high PR backlinks, don't forget your
on- page SEO.Get unique articles.Having an EMD is always an advantage. You can find detailed explanations of all these on BHW! Good luck

Ah yes... I've also noticed that .gov domains are almost always listed before the organics. (Just from what I've eyeballed searching for myself)

What's Panda? Glad to hear Bing loves EMD, considering the effectiveness of EMD will gauge my success.

@ DimBAsInt There are lot of factors which comes into play while doing seo for a site. EMD is a part of onpage seo and is always a added benefit to rank a site but you can rank a website with a non EMD site too but the only difference is that you have put in lot more effort. Second very important stuff is setting up your meta tags properly with proper navigation and a well organized site map with unique seo optimized content. Now, if you are targeting for a local ranking then local hosting with local ip plays a good role in your ranking. After you are done with that you can simply follow basic Off-page optimization and you can see yourself ranking well in SERP. Have patience, dont be too aggressive building backlinks is that what i am gonna outline as whatever changes google bring just stick to the basics of search engine optimization and you could see yourself ranking good. You need to make few changes with the change in google algorithm but the change wont be huge. Last but not the least best of luck with your venture.
    regards
