I'm from a small country where competition on Google is just not greatest and it can be beaten very easily.

My brothers are pretty successfull with ecommerce and we plan to launch one in 1-2 years if God allows. However..

I came up with a question. I did a few successfull blogs in the past, so I would like to start with creation of the website for our niche.

My plan would be to identify top keywords (which I almost already did) with low competition, and create category pages for those with amazing content and slowly start with backlinks.

My question is.. would this still work? Would it grow even though I wouldn't have any products on the website and wouldn't be selling anything yet? I think it would right?

My point is.. I want to start with organic growth. Competition in my country in that niche is something that can be beaten with enough work.

Thanks for any advice

If you don't have any products listed then the bounce rate will be high and it will get back your site to 100+ even you tried to achieve page 1 with just content.

You have a very good point. but still it takes 8-16 months to rank properly even in top 10 - in that time I would have the products listed. I highly doubt that google relies on bounce rate on positions anything from 100 - 20 you know.

This plan works good so start with quality content and submit the sitemap so you can get consistent results

The site doesn't want to be an eCommerce site, just a normal site with blogs that will be good and you can see some leads and impressions
After tracking these leads you can start selling products for your niche

So, What is your niche about?

yes it would grow if you only post informational content regarding the niche.
When you start posting commercial articles you will need products to be listed.

Yes, but achieving page 1 for an product keyword without an product listing is hard, that's why I mention the word "even". For bounce rate, It's just an metaphor.

You can try what @Monsterer suggest.
