Question for people who manually follow

I always seem to get better traction when I manually follow, perhaps my FL settings are screwed up. Anyways, when you manaully follow, do you follow private accounts as well? Does anyone know the limits of follow requests you can have? I'd hate for this to affect me down the road.

I eben prefer private accunts. They more often buy goods from my Instagram-shop. But actually I know nothing about the limits of privatr follow requests((
