If i were to make a thread in the lounge asking how much people would pay for a product, and then i made that product, is it against the rules to sell it here because the thread would look like a presell?

Exactly . . . The thread would look like a presell.
It shouldn't be that difficult to figure out what to price your
product at though. Just look at what similar products are
selling for, and figure out what kind of profit margin you
need in order to make it worth your while.

What if there are no products of its kind? Because there arent, and im not sure what its worth...can i pm you about it?

If there's no products of that kind...then u figure out how much is your time worth to develop the product at the end of the day, it's gonna come down to the quality of the product, and consumers won't know until they have tested it i suggest u develop the product first put into beta, and depending on the feedback u get that will tell u how much the product is worth. If you ask someone has will you beta test my product and they say...sure what type of product is it, and u explain to them them what it does...and they say, "Well I'll let you know, im kinda busy" that means it's worth nothing at all not even worth the time to test it for free.

Better yet, contact two or three senior members of BHW who
have a good rep and iTrader rating and offer them a free copy
of your product in return for their honest opinions and suggestions
as to what a good price would be for your product.
That would not be preselling, since you would be giving the product
to them for free (And I am not talking about a beta or a trial version.
I am talking about offering them the FULL VERSION).

Man, why do you worry... Put any price what you like. Later You can post on your thread that price has been revised (post new price) if you think price is not fair.
Provide some Free copy to senior members aswell so that you know howz your product and tell them to write review on your thread. Most of the BHW members read review and decide whether to buy your product or not.
