Question for Moderators

How come if I post a thread telling people about a good service(I'm not affiliated with) that would be useful it's consider advertising. Now if someone starts a thread asking about a service and people start telling about services, that is consider OK?

Lets deal in specifics - Your opening post, in an unrelated subforum, not an answer to someones question, was

Subject - "Cleaning your big email lists for cheap!"

I'm not affiliated with this site and I've just heard of it through the years.
Maybe it might be useful for someone with a big list.

this is considered selling. Think about it this way - if you started talking to your mates in a bar and came out with the above out of the blue would that be normal? Not really.

HOWEVER, if you're having a conversation about email list cleaning and your comment was along the lines of the above, then it's relevant to the conversation so would be adding value. It's all about context.

So for this reason your content was removed. If you'd posted that in response to someone's question that would have been fine.
