Hello Folks,
I am doing an analysis on GMB data for my own restaurant business. I am trying to compare 2018-2019 period to 2021-2022 period.
There is clear correlation between Search Views and Direction Requests. But, the Direction Requests Conversion rate (Direction Requests / Search Views) has level shifted downward. In 2019, it used to be 5% on average in 2019 vs. 2.5% for the last 18 months. Unfortunately, I do not have numbers for 2020 to mid 2021 but it was peak covid anyways.
I specifically chose Search Views for the sake of this query but a similar correlation and drop in conversion exists for Maps Views and Total Views as well.
My concern being - why is incremental SEO effort leading to lower incremental gains despite a clear increase in visibility?
