Question for beginner... I LOVE YOU!

Hey! So I'm looking to get into bot development. I'm not sure if this is programming or scripting. But basically I want to create a bot that can automate human tasks in a browser. I'm not sure which programming language(s) to learn or where to begin. Are there any guides out there? Where would you direct me? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!
