[Question] Expired Domain Purchase

Mods: If this is not the correct forum, apologies, please move it to the appropriate one if possible.

New to the expired domain game, was looking to use site as actual selling point of selling online services. I am looking to purchase this expired domain that has a good amount of back links (seems most are random/irrelevant anchor link/texts/pages) but wasn't sure if it was penalized and no point in trying to salvage. Should I go ahead, purchase and start disavowing bad links while building up tiers, go on and have a normal site life? Or would this just be a good link juice redirect? Or maybe none of the above?

Backlink profile looks good to me, but make sure you check the following:

- used anchor texts
- archive with archive.org/web
- number of drops with whois.domaintools.com
- those .edu and .gov links whether they are legit or spam

If you see anything strange, like too many irrelevant anchor texts, 3 or more drops, different web history, just leave it, forget it.

@aty1985 I appreciate the direction mate

- I believe they are Polish anchor texts, lots of them
- archive shows it could have been a PBN blog, shows random blog posts irrelevant to the domain name
- We have 12 historical records for xxxxxx.c0m. The oldest record dates back more than 1 year. There are at least 8 significant changes. About 50% of the records publish domain name ownership data; the rest use a privacy or proxy service.
- .edu & .gov seems to be random foreign sites with those tlds
