(Question) DA and PA

Hello there,

As some of you know I am running a journey on here, and I have a problem on one of my sites.

I logged in today to find the rankings went up substantially, but DA and PA also fell 3 values each.

Any clues on what is happening? Or is this normal for fresh sites?

DA & PA are relative metrics. They mean nothing to Google nor search rankings. These are just simply numbers to predict the authority of a website.

Moz has a good algo which is able to show you, relatively, how authoritative your website is.

That being said, PA & DA are also easy to manipulate and rise and fall all the time. I'm monitoring a site that goes from DA 15-19 on a weekly basis.

Look to see if a good link or two was deleted.
 
As said earlier, its from MOZ, however, having a Good PA,DA always rank better. To get good DA,PA focus on relevant backlinks beside interlinking within your own domain. Best example of interlink is Wikipedia.org

You shouldn't worry much about it OP

DA and PA are external metrics. Something that Google gives zero fucks about.

Add the MOZ addon in your browser and check the SERP results for random keywords. You'll find websites with lower DA-PA ranking better than the websites that have better DA-PA.

Not Agree at all that google Does not give any shit to DA, PA. It's all about Authority, e.g., a site have good content and all other good stuff for its visitors but there are also some good PA,DA website, even the site that have good DA, content is shit. For me google will love to rank Authority site rather the other one.

Yea man. Its a good metric to abide if you want to buy domains for whatever purpose. But there are a lot more important factors than DA-PA in my opinion.

Would you buy a DA 30 domain with 1-2 baclinks?

It's high time people understand that metrics like DA/PA/TF can easily be manipulated.

I know sellers doing this and selling shitty domains for upwards of $100. And they don't even get indexed.

Yes!, if these links are relevant and from an Authority Site. But don't miss its CF, TF too.
One Backlink from authority site is better than 10000's backlinks from non-authority websites

Try to getting the backlinks from the good authority websites.
Make a strong internal linking structure of your blogs posts and always focus on high-quality contents.
Remove the bad links from your website.
