I want to install a wifi gateway and offer free limited wifi to people in the area. (Live right by an apt pool) Has anyone done something like this? I would like to get the internet paid for.

rather an interesting and possibly brilliant idea... they jump on your router and then get popped with a gateway landing page. not sure how it would work but hopefully someone can jump in with a tutorial on the concept

I would probably go with a PPC type thing... once they click and watch the ad for a certain amount of time, they will have full access to the internet.

Good luck with this and let us know how it works out. This may be the new 7878 plan!

Theres a way to do it, based on permissions and tracking mac ids. The issue you have is everyone is on same IP pool coming in to download, unless your just list building. I'm finishing one now for a a client that requires an mobile app download.
