Hello,

I am about to make some woocommerce dropship shop (aliexpress)

I was wondering about the name for the shop and my questions are:

1.Should i use some expired domain that have registered before and avoid brand new .com domain?
2.Should i use or not use keyword in the domain name?
3.Should i "brand" my shop with some name or use just kitty food store and kittyfoodstore.com(just an random example)?
4.(not exactly domain question) Should i use VPS or Shared hosting plan for my woocommerce shop at start(not expecting too much traffic at the start.

Main goal is to work with the site in long term and achieve traffic from google, KW research is done and should be able to rank pretty easly in the niche. Main KW have 90k+ searches per month in google and KW is for people who are looking for buying some products.

Thanks for the answers and sorry if we already have topics with the same questions(used search but didnt find exactly the same problems or my kw was wrong)

I recommend very strong keyword - amazing suffix.

Just an example: If you were selling pet toys go for Dog-Pros.com or something like that. I have a spreadsheet full of these. You can either hand reg them or pay someone like $20 for one instead of buyng DogPros.com for 5000 dollars.

i dont know about using - in domain name, it dosent look too good for me and i know years ago it wasnt too good thing for google SEO

Recent sales:

  • $6,591 – body-fit.com – 3/26/2019 – GoDaddy
  • $4,455 – uni-corn.com – 3/20/2019 – Sedo

I use PPC to drive traffic to my sites so it doesn't matter. I thought Google say they don't include the domain in SEO ranking anyway - is this still the case?

Agree. In terms of brandability (and not necessarily SEO), hyphens within domain names are discouraged.

Your domain name is a part of your marketing. Better to use a name that suggests & gives good feeling about what you are selling - that set your brand apart.

It takes time but you can come up with a nice domain name you can handreg. But make sure it is .com, short & memorable for repeated traffics. You can reach out if you need some help coming up with these kind of brandable names.

PS : Avoid hypen, it reduces the perceived authority of your site. Unless you tagetting Germany & other countries that are used to it.

I would try make it short and brandable. It can take ages to come up with a name but worth it in the end.
