[QUESTION] Check from: JSS NETWORKS INC.

Hey guys,

I just received a check from: JSS Networks INC.

Anyone knows anything about this company? I have no clue who they are.

What I managed to find is, they are linked to a Lawyer Company run by Corey Silverstein.

Any help will be appreciated.

I got a random check in the mail once from a company I never heard of. It was for $10,000. It came with instructions to call them prior to cashing it so they can verify that I received it.

I googled the company and they seemed legit. But, just to be safe, I called the bank that supposedly issued the check (Chase) and asked them about it.

They told me it was fake. It was part of a ring of fraud. Basically you cash the check, take out the money, send it somewhere, it bounces, you're stuck with the bill.

Saved myself a headache.

So you might want to do that.

I went to a bank, and the banker said it's a legit check, but I honestly don't know from where it is from, it says JSS Networks INC.

When Googling JSS Networks, Inc, I see three things that pop out to me immediately:

1) This thread is already page one for the company name.
2) I see nothing about this company outside of business filings and a dormant LinkedIn page.
3) The company dissolved in early 2015: https://opencorporates.com/filings/296604260

I would not risk it.

$8.78? Meh, cash it for fun and see what happens. Give it 30 days though before you spend it.

Its probably too late now but the check was from a class action lawsuit. I forgot which one but I received one too. There's a website called Top Class Action Lawsuits that I'm subscribed to that alerts me when any class action lawsuit gets cleared. If you don't have proof of purchase then you are limited in the amount that you can claim. I get random low dollar amount checks from this all the time. JSS Networks was one of them. mine was for $2.00.
