If your site is li0n1.com then "li0n1" is a branded anchor text.

There are a lot of factors involved when ranking a site these days.
Only getting backlinks wont work, You need to have a strategy in which need to get a variety of backlinks as well as social signals for your site.
The backlinking will be required for your home page as well as the inner pages.
Example, some Tier 1 links can link to your homepage and some can link to your inner pages.

You can use both inner page and home page using separate keywords. Yeah i also agree the branded anchor text for home page. Use long tail keywords to be safe. Inner page will rank fast than homepage, by this way you can get traffic to your homepage also, ( if your inner page post is looking good and informative)..

The basic rule is to build links to pages that you would like to rank.
