[Question] Are You Going for Twitter Monetization?

Hi BHW friends,

I have an aged Twitter account with 15k+ followers (mostly from India). This account was dormant for the past many years and hence the impressions have reduced to zero. But I am thinking to revive it again and see if it can be monetized or not, because when it was at peak it had excellent response from the followers few years ago.

Asking this question because since Twitter has announced monetization for creators last month, I think creators have got one more opportunity to earn revenue. However the criteria for eligibility seems daunting (15M organic impressions in 3 months).

Do you have a Twitter account and do you want to go for that?

If yes, then why and how?

Do you have any strategy to grow your Twitter account to be eligible for monetization?

Also do you think I should go for it?

I am growing multiple Twitter accounts, all of them are between 10k and 40k Followers, and I want to apply for monetization, but I don't meet the requirements yet :D

15 million does sound difficult for a smallist account like yours. Also twitter monetisation seems to invite only right now? Or have they changed it?

If you have unique content, it might be possible. Do note that twitter's impression count system is quite flawed and impression numbers can be very unpredictable/unreliable. I have seen small accounts with viral tweets having 100k impressions but 1 or 2k likes which shouldn't be possible.

Great stats. You are close to halfway mark. I think if you push further you will be eligible in next 3 to 6 months, yeah?

Yeah, but this account had huge response few years ago before I stopped working on it. I think it has the same potential if I revive it.

No, I don't see it. It is not invite only.

Even I am noticing this. The tweet count in the Creator Studio is updated very late. Other metrics are also inaccurate.

I have joined X last month to explore how it turns out with all the recent changes.

Since it's a new account so if I can grow it organically then going for verification & monetization can be future option.

X has recently reduced the eligibility for monetization to 5M organic impressions from 15M organic impressions in 3 months. This is a significant change in their policy.

500 followers + Blue tick are the others but I don't think that is a big deal. Real challenge lies in getting the impressions.

But if you closely look at the details you will realize it is still a daunting task. Let me explain.

So 5M is 5000000 impressions in 3 months.
So in one month you need at least 1,666,666 impressions.
So in one day you need at least 55,555 impressions.

And you need this to be constant for at least 3 months.

For a new account this is a huge challenge because I have noticed that a tweet by any new account gets 20-30 impressions only.
You need to have a very good followership and a huge number of tweets everyday to have some chance to be able to be monetized.

And the most beautiful part comes later - you never know how much can you earn (as of today) even if you become eligible for monetization :D
 
Would buying Impressions from SMM Panels not work? 1 million impressions is about $1.50-$3
 
1 what day of the month do they pay?

2 will earlier tweets be monetized as well or only from now on?
 
Does someone have experience with NSFW Twitter accounts and monetization?
It seems not to work for me, anyone had success with it?

I'm wondering how many followers on average are required to achieve those 5M/impressions month. I feel it's a massive number since probably Twitter won't be showing randomly.

Personally I've found that Twitter has become very harsh lately

I have a way I believe we can easily get the impressions. We should easily hit the 5m impressions if we can collaborate
 
How do you make money in Twitter? also isn't Twitter now called X and Elon was promising a competition for Youtube of sorts where you could upload videos? when?
