Question about WP as a complete beginner

I want to start a blog. I love to write and can pump out an insane amount of content quite quickly, but have 0 experience with web design.

So, my question is, is the blog builder worth it? Will it make my site look attractive enough? How long would it take me to learn? I can learn as I go, but can get a blog with lots of content up and running now due to how fast I type and my knowledge on specific subjects.

Anyways, thoughts are appreciated!

I don't know which blog build you're talking about but if you are looking for starting a blog from wordpress as a complete beginner you can do it very easily.
You have two options in to go for wordpress.com or wordpress.org.
On wordpress.com you don't need to worry about the back end of the website's technical aspects such as hosting, file manager, c-panel etc.
Just sign up on wordpress.com and picl plan, I think it's $4/month something and you get a domain for free for a year. this is pretty much it. login to wordpress.com go to posts and start publishing your blogs. You can then play with a few themes later on but do not waste too much time in that.
If you are looking for a more customised solution for your blog then go for wordpress.org. You will have to manage your hosting and domain here. You can install themes and plugins and customise them according to your needs but I don't think you are looking for that because you are focused with how much content you can produce on your blog website.

Or you can hire a web developer to do this all for you so your can dedicate all your time creating content.
 
Nothing beats a good theme, and of those there are a plenty. OMG there are even more shite ones, so pick carefully.

Yeah, I was referring to the blog builder. I wasn't sure if using their pre-made themes led to a good enough looking site or not, but I will go check it out. Thanks!
 
If you are a complete beginner just go for a wordpress theme. It will have everything setup and you just have to worry about posting.
 
Wordpress.org, a lot of free themes, with some clean builders like elementor (bit heavy on code) but pretty simple and self explanatory. Youtube is your best friend here.

Just purchase a WP host and start a free WordPress website on it.
After that, install Astra theme + Pro version and Elementor, and you're ready to go.

It's easy to learn. WordPress has LOADS of videos @ Youtube which is easily understandable.
