Don't where to really ask this but I'm a bit confused about hosting a website.

    I have a namecheap.com domain

Is it possible for me to get webhosting from hostgator and use the domain name I got from namecheap?

What are the disadvantages and advantages?

And lastly, can I host webpages from hostgator but make it so I can have different domain names for each page?

I'm still a newbie on this

Yeah, you can host your domain you got from namecheap with hostgator as well as host multiple domains any time.

Check out my sig to get the same type of plan as hostgator for $4.50 per month

You need to add HostGator's nameservers to the domain within Namecheap. Then all you will need to do is create a FTP account. You can do this with as many domains as you wish (depending on your hosting package) by utilizing Addon Domains within cPanel.

You do not have to use Addon Domains though. Once again, depending on your package, you can add your other domains to your hosting and use them independently. One good reason for doing this would be taking advantage of dedicated IPs for each domain so you will rank better within the SERPs.

If You have just registered your domain with namecheap there is no problem in hosting with hostgator or any other web hosting services unless you are already having a plan with namecheap. In that case you have to wait until its' over or pay the penalty for breaching the contract before it's due time.
