This may have been asked before but I was wondering how views work. If I opened 1000 instances of tor browser to a youtube video and let the entire video play for all of these browsers, would I have a video with 1000 more views? What if I had 1000 different computers (obviously this is a ridiculous scenario) and opened up firefox and watched the video (so they all have different mac addresses but the same IP), would the video have 1000 more views?

Usually the same IP can be counted up to 30 times (if I'm mistaken someone correct me).. Opening up that many browsers would have no effect..

If you have 1000 different computers all with different IP yes you would get 1000 views :D

So since the tor browser has a built in proxy this would work? I think I could easily make a script to get a video 10000 views easily then

Tor Ips are most likely blacklisted, why don't you try using view exchange services. It's pretty common

Okay makes sense. What happens if your video gets a large percentage of its views from blacklisted ips? Would they ban it or do those ips simply not count for views

If you need views and have a budget there's some excellent services in the BST section.

    Question still stands

Also, are these services which offer large numbers of youtube videos committing legally punishable fraud? Could the owners of these services be sent to prison?
