Hello!

My brother wants to open a new business.
The niche is local, and the language is not English.

1. Is it OK to translate English articles to his website?
2. Is it a good idea? (Site won't be penalized?)
3. What is your personal opinion about that?

Cheers.

1. Yes.
2. Yes / (No).
3. Since the niche is local, I don't see the reason why to translate the content in more languages. Ok, let's say you want to give a better vibe to the site, but another 1-2 int languages are more than enough (EN, FR, Spanish, Dutch, whatever).

They can compare documents cross language.

You might get away with it for now but it's not a long-term strategy.

And if you do it, at least don't use their translator.

I was thinking about manual translation (probably outsourcing to a native speaker since it will be cheaper than doing it myself)

The result is still the same.

If it was translation + rewrite than it would be safer.
