Hey guys, I'm pretty new at doing SEO (websites). I've already began reading tutorials, books, watching videos etc.

I've created a small blogspot blog, and did some on page SEO, and I want to get started on building my tier 1 links. The specific keyword has very low competition and it looks like a good project for ranking my first site.

My Questions are:

1. Which is more important for tier 1 links? I know unique content is important, but what about it's readability. I know for future Google updates I can get penalized for readability, but how does this currently affect ranking?

2. How many links should I build and index daily? I was thinking around 5 - 15 links (it has low competition).

Thanks in advance for all your replies!

You got it right. unique content is very important for your tier 1.
Focus on web 2.0
also, its not about the quantity of the links, its about the quality of the links.

First of, wait for your site to be indexed and check your rankings. From there, you may build backlinks and check if the rankings go up.

Good luck!

So what's your recommendations for building tier 1 links? Should I write an article and spin it manually or use auto generated content, and then slowly build links once I'm indexed?

Thanks for your reply.

Adding to the above. Make your web 2.0 properties are informative compare to promote. Google is targeting websites which are promoted and begging to click links
