Question about subdomains for seo

If I have one website and I use that as an index page, can I subdomain off that for something like this:

Main domain: online-episodes.com

then subdomain off of it like this :

the-simpsons.online-episodes.com
family-guy.online-episodes.com
breaking-bad.online-episodes.com

if one website gets google penalty like from DMCA will it affect all of them? like say DMCA complaint comes in for the-simpsons.online-episodes.com will it take out all of the other subdomains too?

Yes you could do that, but if they are closely related you would be better off with folders rather than subdomains.

In the past the penalty was given per domain name and affect the weebite and all subdomains. Now the penalty is targeted and will affect only the subdomain, page, etc. Is given to.

This also means that subdomains won't get much authority of the root domain.
