Question about stealth PP accounts

Hello all!

I want to start selling on ebay and possibly use PP to take credit card payments on my shopify website but I made a paypal account when I was under 18 and they flagged my account and I got the infamous "you can't use paypal anymore". I was a fool and used my real social on the account as well so I think I might be screwed.

Question is, if I make a paypal account for my ebay or even my website will it have to be a stealth account with a made up name and what not and what happens if they need me to verify the account with my social? Also, if it is a stealth account do they still allow money to be withdrawn to a bank account as long as it matches the same postal code?

yes, but it can be something similar, not exactly same as long as you use new info for everything else

you give a EIN instead of SS after registering as a business

Unless you're moving large amounts of money through your paypal regularly, your banking info does not have to match your paypal registration info, it's the bank end that refused paypal payments for mismatching names, not paypal.

So just a quick question then. Would they then verify the EIN and realize the names aren't matching and flag the account?

usually they don't check into that much detail unless you start moving huge (100K a month) amounts of money, usually a EIN check only means that they check those numbers are valid, they don't get enough info to figure out who the owner is

Hi again, so I got my EIN and everything but when I go to sign up for a paypal buisness account it asks me right away for the last 4 of my social but I know my social will get flagged from my previous account. Am I supposed to sign up for a personal account then or something or is there a way to bypass this? Thanks again!

Unless they changed procedure the last year or so there is an option for new business accounts to enter EIN instead of SS. If they're asking you to personally verify the account, they couldn't identify you just by the last 4 digits unless you had other matching info. You could also buy a working paypal and link your bank account to it.

They did the same to me a couple of years ago. I just went ahead and added the last 4 of my social, they havent linked me to my banned account ever. Its been about 4 years.
