Question about SEO

Hi guys, I have a blog/ website that gets about 50-125 views a day. Often times most of my views are from stumble upon or social media sharing sites. I have over 2000 articles posted on my website (I use wordpress platform). Some of my articles are affiliate posts with images & links.

My question is this, I know some of my articles are not optimized for SEO. If i spend a good couple hours going through each individual post and trying to optimize with SEO (h1 tags, keyword, outlinks, etc). Will that help increase my website traffic & possibly bring more affiliate sales in the end?

It will definitely increase traffic and affiliate sales. Just be sure not to over-optimize (ie. maintain a keyword density of under 5%). h1 tags are your friend!

Yeah for sure I would just keep it under 5% especially with this new vicious panda update.

make sure you're not over using your keyword in header tags, too. Just 1 header with your keyword per page is fine.

Also, as a general rule, I find it easier to go optimizing for on-site SEO as I'm writing the content instead of finishing all and then try to optimize.

Optimizing the pages is going to improve your onpage SEO, but what about your offpage? You can't rank without a good combination of the two. If you aren't ranking, then you aren't making any money.

My advice, don't optimize every article, that's outrageous and way too time consuming. Of course, you eventually want to have every article optimized, but doing it all in one go is too much. Focus on say the first 10. Optimize them, then outsource some backlinks or build the backlinks yourself. Observe your SERPS. You should start to see steady increases as you grow your backlink count. Do some backlink pyramids and make sure your TIER1 links are getting indexed. Ping them, hit them with scrapebox/xrumer blasts, etc. Once you rank #1 for a term or two for each article, keep going down your list of articles. It's best to start making money before you devote that much time into it.

So for building backlinks. Let me get this straight. For manually building links. Find a blog that is in a similar niche, comment on their blog post with an anchor text back to your website?
