Hey guys, im getting into SEO and analyzing some competition for some keywords using Market Samurai.

My question is, usually alot of keywords related to products got their first page full of big online stores categories.

Just and exemple, lets say the keyword is apple notebook.

The first results are all from store subpages, like www.walmart.com/apple-netbook and when i analyze the keyword on market samurai, generally the pages have 0 to 5 backlinks only, and arent even optimized at all.

Is it hard to out rank this kind of pages? They got like thousands of backlinks pointing to the general domain, the domain PR is high, the domain is aged, but the specific product got no backlinks on the page.

Let me know what you think / experience with this kind of pages.

Regards

The domains have authority to them e en if the individual page has 0 backlinks google knows and trust the domain so they get the priority..Thats just how it is

yes i understand they have authority thats why they stand out, but if i focus on a site for the exact keyword and build links etc i got a chance? or they are rly hard to beat?

If you can get high pr/high authority back links and steady social signals to your site then you will have a chance. Low pr/authority backlinks no matter how many will get you nowhere.

The Golden rule applies.

"Ye with the Gold rule"

These big companies have huge PPC budgets and.......I would probably be out of line if I said something crazy like
"Google rewards large PPC budgets with higher organic ranking" That would go against Google's Utopian line of B.S. where "the best site wins."

Go after a long tail keyword that you can win (playing against a stacked deck.)

If optimized good you can definitely beat that site. I have beaten a walmart with a product number just by optimization.
