This may be a really dumb question as I am new to the domain game but it seems like a no-brainer to me that if I bought an aged domain that had like traffic of 10,000 uniques a month and I placed a clickbank, CPA or amazon offer related to the name in the domain on the page / site I direct the domain to, I will inevitably get some sales and make some cash (even if it is only $50 a month) by doing nothing else as long as the traffic numbers were accurate and continue at that level.
There seem to be a good number of high traffic (5,000 hits a month and more) domains available for cheap (under $100) and I am wondering what I am missing here?
The whole goal of IM (Whitehat) now after Panda and the other google changes/updates is to buy an aged niche domain, build a passion site on it with tons of, good, original content on it and hope to rank organically for a keyword or two in the niche that will bring enough traffic to the site so some sales of a related offer will generate revenue for you.
If you do the above and the traffic already exists, can't you just skip all the content and SEO and earn the same based on people typing this domain directly into their browsers every month?
