I got a big doubt. Am seeing on Godaddy while searching it for good domain names, It shows "premium domain name available at auctions" but those prices are mostly $5k, 10k range. Is someone buy the domain name for that price ?

If so, This will be high profitable business. And i will jumps into this business by buying lot more good domain names. Please let me know!

Kind regards,
Bart

thats just their asking price, and more than likely someone is not going to buy that domain, expecially since they can just tweak the domain name and add more content and better seo. if you want to sell domain names, i'd reccomend flippa only if you have a med. high end domain. if its only going to go for like 50 dollars, your going to end up profiting like 15$..

yeah the profit is definately not how it seems on sites like Godaddy auctions etc. Those days are long gone in my opinion. There was a time when you could make good money off them, now its fewer and farther in between.

So you're telling, No good domains will get sale. It needs unique articles, better SEO right ?

No one will look for domain age, brand names, 5 - 6 alphabet names, etc.. ?

Thanks,
Bart

You have to separate Domains and Sites. When you're researching Domains we're talking about Web Addresses, think of them as undeveloped pieces of land. Sites, which is what majority of Flippa turns over are Domains that have been developed. Think of these as land with a structure built - Domain + Content is a Site.

Now as for Premium Domain Names - They're thriving. Don't let anyone tell you differently. This is my wheelhouse, I eat, sleep, and breath Domains and have been for over a decade. 2012 has been my best year ever. $25K+ Domain transactions occur every day. Vast majority NEVER get reported to aftermarket sales tracking sites.

There are some guys sitting Domain Portfolios 100K+ in size. Worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

A lot of ppl on BHW think in terms of developed sites, but a LOT of start-ups and existing businesses are buying virtual real estate (Domains) as "brand plays". Short .com, pronounceable, 2 or less syllables are on fire right now. EMDs are still alive and kicking too.

Hope this helps
