Question about popups

Hi all,

So, i have a question.
If i put a popup on my website to another website, will that other website know that he got a visitor from me?

Not easy to explain so bare with me:

A man comes to my website, let's call him Tom.
Tom visits my website, and after 5 seconds he gets a popup on my website.
The popup is a totally different website.

Now, if the owner of that website checks his stats, he will see he got a visitor.
But will he see that he got the visitor from my website? Or does that popup just count as a random visit to that website?

From what I know, the owner of the website will know the popup came from your website.

Analytics will show where referral traffic has come from so yes

All are tracked for sure, it is called ref

eventually, yes. it's called Referral traffic/Referral visit.

Most likely yes, but keep in mind that he needs additional tracking software for that eg. google analytics. Also how does your banner work? Is it normal affiliate baner from affiliate network with refferal data? Or do you intend on using normal baner and base solely on http refferer (in which case its most likely not passed with ssl encryption etc).

I could use this method for multiple purposes.
It's nice to know that i have a way to send loads of visitors to a certain website and the webmaster will see they all come from me.

yes. it is possible to trace back the pop ups from the sender or from the source website. I just hope you are not finding if it is safe for you to scam a website without being found.on a light note though
