Question about ORM

I was just asking in Mod @BHopkins' thread but he suggested me to create new thread.

I am in Indonesia, so all the local market here refers to Indonesia market.

We have just received our first client. The client is actually my brother's friend. He asks us to make his company website, create social media acc, create a shop in local marketplace. After all that, he also asks us to maintain the internet marketing and all his product reputation in the internet.

He has a production of herbal health drink, never sell it online, all this time just selling it offline. So this will be the first for us (my brother and I) and him to set up everything. We have knowledge and experience about setup website, selling in local marketplace, creating a profile in social media.

We don't know the value of the business, as for now, the price is friend's price. And also we never have experience maintaining other people business.

Do we need to get viral for the product?
Do we also responsible to increase our client market ?

Maybe we also need to know, up to where our responsibility to do online work for the client

I would suggest trying to identify his USP first. What can you do to set him apart? What are his competitive advantages? If he has none it's going to be tough to sell in a crowded marketplace.

I would caution you against two things. First, trying to do too much with a limited budget. If he isn't paying you well, you should work according to the price he is paying. Secondly, each social media account you set up will need to be maintained in order to be effective. That includes adding followers, adding content, engaging and answering questions. Social media itself can be a full time job that often shows little results.

Getting a product to go viral doesn't happen on accident. You'll need to come up with something compelling or convincing.

It sounds like you don't have a clear gameplan, that would be my suggestion, find out what he is wanting you to do so you can meet or exceed his expectations.

After reading your reply, I discuss it again with my brother. Finally we decide to postpone this project. We talk to our friend and he also agree to postpone because his production speed also cannot increase if the sales goes up after marketing it in the internet.

Meanwhile, I still need to learn more about ORM. I haven't finished reading your article here. And to understand the value, so I can give a reasonable price later.
