I have a question why old BSTs that are approved can't be re-opened?

If the service will be retested regardless and you can open a new sales thread for the same product but you can't get your old sales thread back that got closed, let's say because of your 1-year-long absence from the community and there were no past issues with your service.

What's up with that exactly?

And this only happens here and not in other communities or marketplaces where services are being sold,

You can be on Fiverr and close the gig and re-open it if there are no issues.
You can do this on ebay and basically everywhere else. Places that I cannot mention because the rules here forbid discussing other communities, such as ours where services related to SEO are being sold.

This makes no sense to me.

The service does get tested again. Thousands worth of review copies are gone however with the feedback you received. If the service gets retested and is up to the same standards then why you just can't continue with the old sales thread?

Did you try applying for some old bat to open again? You should contact support for the reason why not allowed to reopen.

This is why this was addressed to mods.

Yes, very true. It takes a lot of effort to build a BST to some traction via reviews, review copies, etc. And it just goes away when you have to start a new BST in order to sell the same product/service. Why not charge $60 instead of $30 to re-open a BST rather than only giving the option of starting a new BST?

Deal with your own things, this does not concern you. It was posted under the Forum feedback & suggestions section where it belongs.

Instead of trying to up your post count go and do something productive.

Correct, and this makes no sense.

Can @Diamond Damien @Zwielicht give an answer to this? Perhaps this can be improved.

@INCC Interesting - can I ask where you got that info from? Looking at Chapter 18: Rules For Editing, Closing, Re-Opening, & Maintaining Your BST available here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-black-hat-world-marketplace-rules.1295700/#post-13962694

We allow threads to be reopened once re-reviewed to ensure you can still deliver as advertised for up to a 6 month period. Is your issue simply the 6-month window?

OR are you talking about marketplace threads from 10 years ago? which we don't allow as they would no longer be relevant or the reviews would no longer be relevant.

Can this time be possibly changed to 1 year? Six months is a little too short time and lots of people can take this time off from IM.

10 years I understand it's out of the question as accounts get sold and whatnot but it would be great if we could get more extension on the 6-month period.

Good luck in life with this attitude.

I have faced this issue. But when I was told that my bst cannot be reopened, I did not question it and opened a new one. I thought if BHW has this rule, there must be some solid reasons behind this.

Hello,

I agree with OP, I think the limit should be increased to 1 year.

It takes a lot of hard work, patience, and money to make a BST successful. Every business or individual could have short term issues / problems or they just want to take some time off from this cut throat competitive business environment they should have some leverage and if there service had no issues in the past they should be allowed up to 1 year at least to re open their BST.

Thanks!

Why you think it should be 1 year and not 8 months?
just because you was absent for 1 year?

1 year makes sense. There are tons of members here who have taken year-long sabbaticals. Including myself.

6 months is a too short period regardless of the reasons for absence.

Why Jr Vip is renewed every year and not 8 months? Why BST Listings are renewed yearly? Why kids / students move to next class every year? Why taxes are declared yearly? [I can Insert another 100 things here]

Because, a time period of a year holds a significance.

To whom? I gave a suggestion in a polite way.
Ok you can stop responding here. Let's keep the topic on what was stated in the original post.

Thanks
