If I have a set category for my posts set to no follow because I am copying specials from my vendor on them and have this category show up on an internal page will this give me duplicate content on that page. I already know my vendors have this stuff on their website.

What I am trying to accomplish is to be able to make a post of a special and then it will automatically show up on the proper page in a slide deck. I have all this down but I don't know if I should make this page a no follow also.

I would like this page to rank.

Anybody with knowledge on this please let me know. Please don't post if you are guessing or your long lost brother who is also your uncle told you that he thinks blah blah blah.

    Thanks in advance...:boobies:

I think I must be reading your question wrong.

What Im seeing is that you have manufacturer/vendor descriptions on your site .. so that content is a def dupe from the main site and likely hundreds/thousands of affiliates/resellers (depending on the popularity of the vendor)

Your concerned about dupe content on the site appearing across three locations -> post/category/special? (is it WP based?)

Im not seeing where nofollow is coming in here ... traditionally an internal dupe page on an ecommerce site would be no-indexed and used only for internal sales/internal and either a unique write-up or mish-mash of vendor descriptions/reviews etc is used for search traffic/site ranking.

The question as I am reading is clearly onsite dupe content of which the rel=no-follow will have no bearing, so I think Im missing something

de-index them with robots.txt or paste them as an image.

Did you read my text above about please don't post if you are guessing or your long lost brother who is also your uncle told you that he thinks blah blah blah. I know SEO quite well. I am just trying to figure out what I need to do to pages, if the pages will have duplicate content on them. I don't want to have to rewrite offers from my suppliers. That is asinine. I was trying to have it set up so I could post one offer and it would go on the page I set the category to of the post. I wanted to do it this way so my employees can't fuck shit up. So is there anyway to set up a category and a page in wordpress so it does not index. I was reading an article that Matt C was saying if it is not your content then make it a no follow link. What does everyone else do?
