Question about my first WH project?

I have decided to start a big white hat project.

I am going to purchase a bulk of unique articles and I have a question.

Will it harm my ranking if I submit them all to top 5-10 directories only?

Should links to my website come from different sources?

This not the only method I am going to use but I want to be sure I
will not waste money buy submitting my articles to a limited number
of places.

If you're going to be linking back to only one site, you'll want to diversify your link base across more than 5-10 directories. Though consistently updated links won't hurt, a wider variety will help far more.

I would say pick up a copy of seobook, as far as I am concerned you should submit to some second tier ones as well...
