Ok,So Im going to start selling some products on ebay and they sell better spread out over many accounts....

My question is, if I buy a account wont it get flagged for being logged onto from a different IP ?

And should I always access it from a proxy like hidemyass.com????

I always thought that they say never to log into personal stuff on proxies because its insecure??

    Thanks so much for looking!

Where are you going to buy an account from?
And don't log in from a proxy.

buy a few private proxies or vpns, that should work out better for you, spend $5 per account per month per vpn, and it shouldn't be a lot of money if you sell well.

    eBay detects Proxies. Insta-ban.

eBay really pushes tracking in Flash Cookies. IP is important, but not the primary indicator if the rest of the information is the same. It's a percentage based system. You can have the same name, same IP and they might be what flags the account and causes you to become banned. Same IP, Same Address, flags go up. Same name, different IPs, different addresses, same town... flags won't go up.

It's kind of a balance between what you can alter but keep legitimate (if you care enough to) and to differentiate your information so that to a computer, you are not likely to be the same exact person as "someone else"

Play around with your name. If your name is Stephen, become Stephan, Steven, Steve, Stpehn, and you can do such and plan for such if you have a business name. Your address can go from "Applewood Dr." to "Apple Wood Dr" or "Applewood Drive"

eBay knows which addresses are USPS P.O. box locations. If you are that desperate, use an address to place not likely to use eBay, but its not likely you will have that many problems. Most sellers are there to sell and not buy so they don't receive stuff. Buy stuff anyways. eBay doesn't like sellers who never buy.

Just turn flash off when using anything eBay or PayPal related. Lot of people are linked this way and don't even know it, this is also why people say to create a different windows user for each account.

Phone numbers aren't even an issue anymore. Google Voice hasn't failed me yet. I used to buy prepaid phones and lug a couple around with me like some drug dealer. Pointless. Plus, GV sends the calls to your phone.

If you are using a VPN from an online service, use the newest one to just come out or find someone to create one for you. eBay has a directory of VPN providers and chances are, someone has used the recycled IP for selling Nikes on eBay before you and eBay is on full alert.

Banks have certain ID Numbers called BIN (Bank Identification Numbers) - Use a different bank.

eBay is requesting documentation? Don't use the same Fax Number for everything. You dont even have to fax anything anyways. I never do, I just wait a week or two and contact them like a dolt and am like "I sent in everything you asked like a week or two ago. No, I don't have the fax number, I didn't think I needed it, I sent it out from my local Kinkos" - the regular seller isn't likely to be too detail specific.

    VPN works fine!

If you are not from USA the only things you need are:
    - a good VCC (around 5/6 bucks) (good because some are pre-banned from ebay/paypal)
    - VPN (around 5 bucks / month)
    - Way to withdraw the money from the paypal to your bank account.

and you are good to go. Be sure to log-in with same ip everytime and you should not have any problems. Also if working with more accounts you need different VPNs and a good advice is to have accounts separated by PC users (because of flash cookies) or you can delete flash cookies with mozilla plugin better privacy...

    hope this helps...

As far as you create different user accounts on Windows and better use Dynamic IP Address which change at least the last 2 numbers of the address on every log - you are on the right way ! Different user accounts will store cookies and flash objects in specific different directories - so you can't be linked between accounts ! MAC Address is not an issue for eBay - another story is for Amazon ! Regards !

hmm.. I don't get the issue here. You are allowed to have multiple ebay seller accounts. The only problem would be if you used the accounts to jack up bids on auctions to the other accounts. Now if you are doing something that will get you banned from ebay then that could be a different story.

Actually, it's a grey area at the moment. It USED to be that you were allowed to have multiple eBay accounts. eBay doesn't feel this way anymore. I used to create 4 eBay accounts tied to 1 PayPal account. I'd make about 300 sales on each account each month, and it would go to 1 PayPal, then eBay called me up and said "You've got these 4 accounts and they are doing well, but we want you to only use 2 for security purposes" so I would merge my sales into 2 accounts giving me 600 sales per account. eBay calls me up, "You can't have 2 eBay accounts. Put them into 1 account or we will ban you"

Good thing they didn't know I was selling across 20+ accounts.

16 Accounts linked to 1 PayFlow Pro and Merchant account, no issues.

Ah, guess that would be area I have not seen as I only have 2 accounts. I have helped someone with their account which has me logging into a third from the same IP but nothing ever came of it. My main account is about 8 years old and the newest out of them is a friends account that is only about 2 years old and that one is now linked to a different paypal account. That must be why I never heard anything from them about it.
