Hi evryone,

I have a script for mp3 search engine and when i check a code source i found only : <meta property="og:description" balise

i must to add <meta name="description" balise for better seo ? or its not important

Ps : sorry for my english

meta for description is necessary part for to show your content on search engine

Sometimes Google will just ignore your meta description and choose the most relevant content on your page for the search term entered.

Meta description is still a very important tag - amek sure you are using it correctly.

META descriptions are still useful and quite important. When making your description, you need to make sure that it's accurate, relevant, and brief. Search engines will use that to match texts/phrases.

Google is stipulating a whole lot more than just meta description.
I don't know to what degree they affect SEO but if big G is asking for them, it maybe unwise to ignore their request.
Looking at their demands, I can see how it would help their machines better serve the correct pages
