This is my first thread here, so first of all: HI!

I have a question about the linkwheel: why do you have to interlink the web 2.0 properties? What purpose does it serve other than allowing google to 'see through' the link wheel? Wh ycan't you just make a bunch of web2.0 properties an have them link to your main site without linking them to eachother? Anyone care to explain?

I think you answered it - the link to the "next" spoke in the wheel is specifically so Google can see the next site and scoop it up.

Of course, when G does this it will also see the link in THAT article to your site and so on.

Other than that - I am not aware of any other benefit.

HOWEVER, be aware of the sandbox effect. I am getting clobbered lately on LinkWheeled sites being sandboxed. Ugh.

So, by finding another way to get your spokes found (e.g. social bookmarking, blog commenting) you can preserve more link strength for the link to your main site AND you will make it harder for your wheel to be discovered through pattern-matching. Guess I won't be making a wheel. Rather just spokes :D

Johnnie,

The main point of a link wheel is to create a new subdomain on a site like Wordpress.com, and since it's on an established, high PR domain, it is less likely to get sandboxed.

So another way to get around sandboxed sites is to get domains to them quickly, and if you can get high PR domains linking to your new site, you get out of the sandbox faster.

That's exactly what link wheels do, they give backlinks to new sites, get them indexed, and then have these newly indexed sites pointing to your targeted site.

Like lemon said, you want to ensure that you don't link site 1 to site 2, site 12 to site 1, etc. to avoid the links looking forced. Another great strategy is to link to other pages that talk about your company.

For instance, instead of targeting your main site, you can target a facebook page, a wikipedia page, etc.

We're seeing a lot of innovative ways to increase the value of link wheels we do for clients, and this technique is only at the surface right now, there's a lot of improvement to come.

plz dear can u make 1 wheel in front of me this will b ur kindness i have a project and i cant know about wheel link plz show me how u will do this work i will thankfull too u kindly reply me asap

Here is how to get properties in your link wheel sand boxed:

  1. Make sure you use the same email address for all of your accounts.
  2. Make sure you use the same IP address for all your properties
  3. Now use the exact same content in each property don't even bother to spin it!
  4. Now make sure you link all of these properties together in a closed link wheel.
To add more fun to this mix:
  • Add an RSS feed on each property
  • Ping the RSS feed and the URL
  • Lastly, bookmark everything and make sure when you do this use the same IP address and email!

Have fun!;);)

@lostgringos - I don't think Google uses IP and email address data to assess the sandbox, maybe a wee bit paranoid there. Maybe duplicate usernames, MAYBE.

But ye duplicate content, unnatural keyword density, small wheels, unnatural linking...you can do it!

Yeah this, Google CANNOT see what ip address content was published under to a web 2.0 property, I mean how would it? That data is not available to Google, same goes for the email address unless your email address is visible on your web 2.0 property (which by default it wont be)
